2021, Angela decided to follow through on their new year resolution to write songs by turning that very list of resolutions into songs, creating this album.

Each song is an expansion of feelings and experiences that have built up over the course of the past decade, and especially over the course of the pandemic. This multi-genre experiment has also been an exercise in creating from a place of curiosity without the absolute need for perfection. As a lifelong dabbler in songwriting, and first-time dabbler in GarageBand, Angela had never fully completed a musical body of work. She’s always felt there was too much pressure for it to be perfect – either for her own sense of perfectionism or because of the idea it needs to be perfect enough to be monetized – and has never ventured too far into music out of insecurity. This is an exercise in saying “fuck that.”

What started as a silly idea has become a vulnerable meditation on the collective need to reimagine ourselves every year, and the accumulation of experiences that lead us there in the first place.
